Name: Letters from Heaven

Author: Surabhi Sharma

Surabhi had organized a giveaway on Goodreads. I showed interest and downloaded her book on my Kindle.

Title/Cover:
The title of the book hooked me. My mind conjured up images of a dead lover/spouse sending letters from the after-life. Being a fan of fantasies, I started reading the book with a lot of interest. The cover is very interesting too.

Review:

Here is what I thought:
–> Surabhi is a good storyteller and has left no loose threads.
–> The plot is believable.
–> It is a happy and optimistic story. It makes you believe in yourself, making you understand that, ‘life goes on’. I liked the way this message is deftly woven into the story line.

The slow progress that the protagonist makes is relatable. After a traumatic experience, it takes days/months for people to come to terms with their loss. Surabhi has captured this very ably. Some portions seemed a bit rushed to me. It was like they were added as an afterthought. Otherwise, there is nothing to begrudge or point a finger at.

Language:

The language is good and Surabhi writes well. Her understanding of emotional trauma is commendable.

Rating: 4/5
I recommend this book.
